A solo exhibition featuring eight video works exploring trauma-related states such as dissociation, intrusion, and altered perception.
Through video, projection, and sound, Fiorentino creates immersive environments where internal experiences become visible.

DIAGNOSIS features a compelling series of eight video artworks by Stockholm-based multidisciplinary artist Elin Fiorentino. Each piece embodies a cognitive or bodily symptom that can arise following severe trauma: intrusion, dissociation, flashback, altered perception, the fragile reach toward grace. Through video, projection, and sound, Fiorentino transforms the internal into the visible. She refrains from explanation or documentation, instead creating conditions for experience.

These works stem from a desire to comprehend what language cannot capture. Often invisible, these internal occurrences shape our interactions with the world. The mind develops symptoms as defense mechanisms, methods of survival and protection. They are not abnormalities but rather forms of intelligence, creative responses to harm.

Fiorentino's visual language is distinctive. High-saturated bichromatic palettes, low resolution digital textures, pixel aesthetics, and organic abstract forms blend with sharp pop art references. She crafts her worlds with particle systems, manipulated video footage, and immersive projection. Encountering these works engages your own nervous system.
