Portrait of Elin Fiorentino, Stockholm-based audiovisual artist

Elin Fiorentino is a new media artist working with moving image and installation. With a Swedish and Italian-Australian background, her practice is rooted in lived experience and explores psychological environments through an existential lens.

Her work engages the tension between perception and illusion, often reflecting emotional states such as anxiety, obsession, and fragmentation. Through the manipulation of moving image, she constructs immersive, unstable visual compositions where time, form, and motion are continuously in flux. While conceptually grounded, her process remains guided by intuition, allowing each work to unfold beyond its initial structure.

Drawing on a background in film and music, Fiorentino Passanisi creates immersive installations presented in both exhibition and live stage contexts. These works function as audiovisual environments where image, rhythm, and spatial dynamics are continuously reconfigured in real time.

Her practice is rooted in vulnerability as a form of transmission, an attempt to externalize internal states and allow them to resonate beyond the self. Engaging with themes of misunderstanding and subjectivity, her work reflects on how individual perception shapes and distorts experience, and how reality is continuously constructed through cognitive and emotional frameworks.
